Modern conveniences have robbed us of our basic functional movement. Rather than being in the fields squatting and moving regularly we spend much of our lives, sitting at unnatural angles on chairs or resting on couches. Our bodies have suffered. Add to that, the extreme stresses that life brings, has wreaked havoc on our nervous system, creating a host of symptoms (such as digestive issues, chronic muscles tension, chronic stress, poor sleep, poor immunity, and so on).

If you have limited mobility in one area then other parts of the body will compensate. For example if you can't fully extend your arms overhead it's common to arch your lumbar spine and have anterior pelvic tilt which can cause issues such as back and hip pain, digestion issues, stomach bulge and weakened abdominal muscles, nonspecific pain in your groin. So your lack of mobility can be responsible for a myriad of issues you may not realize are connected.

At almost 50, I have had a three-decade-long journey in the world of yoga seeking ways to address my own intense physical pain and sensitive nervous system. I used to be in pain from a variety of injuries everyday. I would wake up and be in pain, go to bed and be in pain.  The solution is about learning how to strengthen your CORE safely, to have a STABLE CORE (hint: never do sit-ups) whilst maintaining or increasing your range of motion and learning to RELAX your muscles when not working them. If one of these parts is not addressed then you won't get the same results. Having studied many types of yoga including Hatha, Vinyasa, Kundalini, Yoga Nidra (500 hrs RYT), I further expanded my knowledge of anatomy through Bowen Therapy training which equipped me with an nuanced understanding of the human body. As well as other teacher trainings such as Barre (ballet inspired training). Now in Menopause in the 2nd half of life I am pain free with full mobility.


Whilst I can do handstands and arm balances and all the crazy stuff you see on social media nowadays -  this course is not about that. This journey is about real people in mid-life reaching their own full mobility and living a vibrant later half of life to their fullest.
